Digging versus Mining

I like to dig.
Post holes.
Tree holes.
The occasional utility trench.
I love to dig for potatoes and eat them.
"Thou shalt dig," said God.
So man dug and was happy.
I know that I am working,
when I dig.
But I do more mining than digging
and mining is a different thing.

Digging calms the soul;
mining claims it.
