Guardian Tower Angels

by Franco Bertucci

Through the age of baby fat
our children have guardian angels that
protect their towers made of blocks
from the laws of physics.

Later in life, the last block
will always topple the tower- but not now.

Angels who take pleasure
in a little guarding recreation
after a long day of averting disaster
are the only reasonable explanation.
