I Miss Monks

The world needs more monks,
celibate scholars who pray
and give back to the world they've renounced,
champagne, good beer and vinegar,
cheese and calligraphy,
a way to put music on paper
and, oh yes- the theory of heliocentrism;
a contribution of debatable value,
but a monk has time to come up with a thing like that,
as well as to copy the entire bible by hand.
