Sun Day

Forget snow days.
School should be against the law
on a day like today.
Teachers should go on hikes
and pick berries.
Children should ride bikes
and blow through the kitchen for lunch,
then ride to the neighbors' house
and get another lunch.
On a day like today they need to work
on their physical and cognitive development
and resistance to dirt-born germs.
A child can make great strides
on a day like today,
or be withered in a classroom with no windows.
