The Un-strange Thing

I won't ask how it happened,
for I think I have a pretty good idea.
And I won't ask where the time went,
for fear that a physicist might tell me.

Everyone knows that life is strange,
but I want to know
how we know that.

Where is the un-strange thing
we compare life to?
