When I Was Single

When I was single
I spent a lot of time.

Now I am not single,
I have children
and I marvel

At how I managed
to spend all that time.

Hours and hours and days
of the precious stuff;
now so scarce.

But I would not go back.

When I was single
I spent a lot of time
wishing I wasn't.

But now I am rich
in love and purpose.
